Conciliation talks have broken off in the Brandon University strike and no further talks are scheduled.
The BU Faculty Association strike entered its second week this morning.
BUFA president Prof. Joe Dolecki said this morning that talks broke off late Tuesday afternoon and the conciliator returned to Winnipeg. The university refused to budge, after the professors reduced their wage demands to 2.9, 3.0, and 3.25 per cent over three years. Dolecki said that the university continues to offer 0.5, 1.0, and 2.75.
The two sides are also split over benefits and working conditions.
